The Free CDL General Knowledge Practice Tests developed by CDL Digest each contain 50 multiple choice questions to help you pass the actual test on the first attempt. The CDL General Knowledge Test is required for all commercial learner’s permit (CLP) applicants. You must have a score of 80% (40 out of 50 questions) or better to pass.

CDL GENERAL KNOWLEDGE TEST INFORMATION COVERED:

Each Free CDL General Knowledge Practice Test covers knowledge of the 20 areas for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) as required by Federal Regulation (49 CFR 383.111(a)). It also covers commercial driver specific information contained in the following federal regulations:
